Mary Purdy

Mary Purdy, MS, RDN is an award-winning integrative eco-dietitian and nutrition educator who was in clinical practice for 13+ years using a personalized medicine and functional nutrition approach before transitioning into sustainable food systems and their intersection with climate change, the environment and human health. 

In addition to being adjunct faculty at Bastyr University in Seattle for 8 years, she currently teaches Sustainable Diets and Public Health at The Culinary Institute of America and lectures for numerous universities, institutions and professional educational platforms. She also presents regularly at national and state conferences on both nutrition and sustainability with a focus on the health and environmental benefits of regenerative agriculture/agroecology. She served long term as Nutrition and Sustainability Advisor for Big Bold Health led by Dr. Jeffrey Bland, as well as consulted with numerous other food brands and businesses focused on sustainable food systems.  She is also Director of Education for The Planetary Health Collective, an organization devoted to mitigating climate change and nourishing human health by leveraging the unique role of food and nutrition professionals.

She has hosted 125+ episodes of the podcasts “The Nutrition Show” and "The Good Clean Nutrition Podcast" highlighting trending nutrition and sustainability topics and authored the books “Serving the Broccoli Gods" and "The Microbiome Diet Reset."
