How Does the Nutrient Density Alliance Define Regenerative Agriculture?

Within the white paper, Regenerative Agriculture (RA) is defined broadly as a program with 3rd party validation around soil-centric and agroecological principles, with acknowledgement that Indigenous Practices are being resurfaced in commodity agriculture via RA. Third-party verification should be used to confirm field-level metric outcomes of soil organic matter or provide an on-pack certification.

The paper was drafted with both large and small food companies in mind. It is meant for inter-departmental alignment within companies on the business case for nutrient density tied to their regenerative agriculture program. For small companies without in-house resources it is meant to guide the choice of a laboratory, representative sampling program, and understanding which resources should be consulted for any on-pack communication with consumers.
